The Hangover Review

This review is going to be a short one.

The hangover was hilarious. I don't think I went for more then five minutes at any given time without having a good laugh. It's one of those comedies that is greatly enhanced by being in a theater filled with other people who are laughing, so I recommend you go out and see it.

Literally there were so many funny things that happened in this movie I have difficulty thinking of just one. I mean sure was it a little gross and immature at times, but that's par for the course with this type of movie. Naturally here is some cursing, adult situations, drug references, and comic male nudity.

It was kind of like "Superbad" meets "Dude Where's my Car." It's a buddy movie that involves a journey to figure out what the heck happened to them last night. Unlike so many films of it's genre, it has a solid plot that makes sense. There is a ton of random hilarity, but it is all done in a context where it makes sense.

Here is the basic plot. Three friends and one soon to be Brother-In-Law travel out to Vegas for a bachelor party. They get there, pay for a fantastic hotel room and everything is going great. However they wake up the next morning to a completely trashed hotel room, and a host of bizarre problems like the groom to be going missing. They must travel around Vegas trying to figure out what the heck they did last night, and try to find their missing friend, hilarity ensues.

Zach Galifianakis completely stole the show. He played a stupid, odd, but strangely sweet and lovable kind of man. Honestly it's a very hard role to play and only a master of awkward humor like Galifianakis could have pulled it off. Because honestly if the character was played even a little bit more dumb, awkward, or strange everyone would have hated him and it would have ruined a lot of the movie. He played this role to perfection, and I laughed at literally almost everything he said. The other cast members did a great job too.

It's just a really funny movie, go see it if your not too easily offended.
